Welcome
to the Bible study section of my home page. This may not be daily,
but I will try to update it with a new study as often as I can. I
hope you check here often to see what the current topic is. I learn
as I give this information to you. I use The Student's Life Application
Bible (New Living Translation) so it may be different from your Bible.
I find this version easier to read and understand. The topics of
the day are chosen by what I feel I should discuss, the mood I'm in, or
what I feel led to talk about.
If you would like me to cover a
certain subject please email me.
I am not a licensed minister
or a pastor.
For topics covered in the past, please
look at the archive.

25, 1999 - Grow Up |
Luke chapter 2, verses 6 - 7
6.
And while they were there, the time came for the baby to be born.
7.
She gave birth to her first child, a son. She wrapped him snugly
in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no room
for them in the village inn.
Some people's first impression of Jesus is as a baby in a manger, it must
not be our last. The Christ child in the manger makes a beautiful
Christmas scene, but we cannot leave him there. This tiny, helpless
baby lived an amazing life, died for us, ascended to heaven, and will return
to earth as King of kings. He will rule the world and judge all people
according to their decisions about him. Do you still picture Jesus
as a baby in a manger-or is he your Lord? Make sure you don't underestimate
Jesus. Let him grow up in your life. |

17, 1999 - Why Wait? |
Song of Solemon chapter 4, verse
12
12.
" You are like a private garden, my treasure, my bride! You are like
a spring that no one else can drink from, a fountain of my own."
This verse was mentioned in the very first Bible Study Entry way back in
July but was not studied more in depth because
it was part of a chapter that I referred to.
Wow, such beautiful words like this is in the Bible? This verse is
actually a man talking to his new bride as they are about to engage in
sexual intercourse for the first time. You can tell the intimacy
here as the man describes her and her virginity as a spring that nobody
else can drink from. Virginity is considered old-fashioned by many
people today. But virginity has always been God's plan for unmarried people
... and with good reason. Sex without marriage is cheap. It
cannot compare with the joy of giving yourself completely to the one who
is totally committed to you as well. |
